US Airways Reports Record Passenger Loads for Second Straight Month

The U.S. Airline Industry continues to soar, fueling the increased demand for pilots to fill the seats of their airliners.
For example, US Airways announced today that for the second month in a row that a record amount of their airliners seats were filled with passengers. October and year-to-date 2011 traffic results show that Mainline passenger load factor was a record 83.7 percent for the month of October, up 0.1 points versus October 2010.
US Airways’ President Scott Kirby said, “Our October consolidated (mainline and Express) passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased approximately 10 percent versus the same period last year.”
For the month of October, US Airways’ preliminary on-time performance as reported to the U.S. Department of Transportation was 85.3 percent with a completion factor of 99.5 percent.
US Airways also reported that Mainline passenger load factor was a record 83.6 percent for the month of September, up 1.5 points versus September 2010.
