The airlines in the United States are very profitable and are growing their route structures and adding aircraft to their fleets. United Airlines is among the most successful and a good indication of that is that United has over $2 billion available to spend on new aircraft.
United announced recently that it would buy 25 126-seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft from Boeing Co in addition to the 40 it had ordered earlier with the value of the new aircraft set at $2 billion.
United reported that it would start taking delivery of the new 737s toward the end of 2017.
United announced that the company will also convert a previous order for 27 Boeing 787 aircraft into an order for four 777-300ERs and five 787-9s, with delivery set from 2017 going forward.
These new aircraft purchases by United are the latest example of the airlines expanding to meet the increasing demand from the flying public. The increased demand for air travel and new aircraft also increases the demand for new airline pilots to fly them.
The demand for new pilots is attracting record numbers of new people to the airline industry who are interested in lucrative careers as airline pilots. The most successful of these new pilots began their careers by flight training with the academy with the most success in helping people meet those career goals.
