Spirit Airlines has become the latest US-based carrier to become an Airbus A320neo customer, joining other airlines like Virgin America, JetBlue, American, and Republic/Frontier.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commition, the aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2016 through 2021 and are in addition to the 31 aircraft scheduled to be delivered under the company’s existing order from 2012 through 2015.

Spirit Airlines has finalized an agreement to purchase 75 Airbus A320 aircraft, consisting of 45 A320neos and 30 A320s, previously announced at the Dubai Airshow in November of last year. The purchase further expands the need for new airline pilots to fly these aircraft as well as those purchased by the airline industry around the world over the next decade.
