ATP's regional partner SkyWest Inc., the owner of SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines, has confirmed its order for seven current generation Embraer E-175s, valued at $301 million, which it will fly on behalf of Alaska Airlines.
In May 2013, Utah-based SkyWest placed an order for 40 firm and 60 reconfigurable E-175s, which were dependent on SkyWest being awarded more flying from its major US airline partners. This additional seven aircraft makes for a total of 47 firm aircraft orders.
SkyWest Inc.’s subsidiary carrier SkyWest Airlines will operate the aircraft in a two-class, 76-seat configuration for Alaska Airlines. The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in the second half of 2015.
Over 100 graduates of ATP's Airline Career Pilot Program have been hired by SkyWest through the Airline Pilot Bridge Program agreement they entered into with ATP.
