Republic Airways Holdings reported Thursday that preliminary figures show that its June traffic and capacity rose from last year, boosted by growth in passenger traffic.
Airline revenue passenger miles is a measure of a passenger traffic calculated by multiplying the total number of paying passengers aboard an aircraft by the distance traveled measured in miles. Non-revenue-paying passengers (e.g., airline employees flying on free or nearly-free passes, passengers using free tickets, etc.) are excluded when measuring RPMs.
Republic Airways carried 1.75 million passengers during the month of June, a 3.2% increase from 1.70 million passengers carried in the same month a year ago.
Republic Airways Holdings operates Republic Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines, Shuttle America, Mokulele Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Lynx Aviation and Midwest Airlines. With the exception of Frontier and Mokulele, all of its flights are operated under its major airline partner brand such as American Connection, Continental Express, Delta Connection, United Express and US Airways Express.
