Republic Airways Holdings, today reported preliminary passenger traffic results for March 2010. The Company generated 1.83 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs), a 110% increase from the same month last year.
Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 93%. Block hours were 83,799 in March 2010, a 34% increase from March 2009. Consolidated load factor was 80% versus 74% in March 2009. More than 2.7 million passengers were carried during the month, a 59% increase from the same month last year. As a reminder, the 2009 results do not include operations at Midwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines which were purchased by the Company in July 2009 and October 2009, respectively.
The branded operations at Frontier and Midwest generated 1.09 billion RPMs in March 2010, an increase of 16% over their combined March 2009 results. Capacity (ASMs) for the branded carriers increased 7% to 1.30 billion in March 2010 compared to 1.21 billion in March 2009. Load factor on the branded operations was 84% in March 2010 compared to 78% in March 2009, with both carriers achieving the highest March load factor in their histories. The branded carriers served 1.25 million passengers last month, a 10% increase from March 2009.
