Republic Airways Holdings, Inc. reported preliminary passenger traffic results for December 2009. The company generated 1.664 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs, a 112.4% increase from the same month last year, while available seat miles or ASMs increased 99.5%.
The airline said its December traffic rose 112.4% to 1.66 billion RPMs from 783.38 million RPMs in the same period last year. The airline's December capacity was 2.21 billion ASMs , up 99.5% from 1.11 billion ASMs in the prior year period.
Load factor for the month was 75.3% versus 70.7% in the prior year period.
For the quarter to date period, Traffic rose 120.4% to 5.08 billion RPMs from 2.31 billion RPMs in the same period last year. Capacity was 6.63 billion ASMs, up 103.7% from 3.25 billion ASMs in the prior year period. Load factor was 76.7%, up 5.8 percentage points from 70.9% in the prior year period.
