To replace flying by the eight E170 aircraft, which are flying for Frontier, Republic said it expects to use E145 aircraft “that are being removed from fixed-fee service with Continental in the second quarter of 2011 and Q400 aircraft that are currently held for sale to backfill a portion or all of the flying vacated by the removal of the E170s.”
Indianapolis-based Republic Airways is a holding company with a fleet of 283 aircraft. Its subsidiaries include Frontier, Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America.

Republic Airways said on Monday that it will begin flying eight additional regional jets under contract for Delta Air Lines Inc.. The move is an amendment of an earlier agreement with Delta Air Lines to provide aircraft to serve Delta routes.
