Republic Airways Holdings, owner and operator of Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, reported first-quarter net income of $6.4 million. The parent company reported that Republic and Shuttle America posted revenue of $341 million in the period.
Republic also reported that first-quarter traffic grew 2% compared to the same period a year ago. The Company generated more than 967 million revenue passenger miles in April, virtually unchanged from the same period in 2014. Republic Airways carried almost 1.9 million passengers during the month, virtually unchanged compared to April 2014.
That kind of stability is good news for the hundreds of ATP trained pilots who are flying for Republic and Shuttle America. Republic has partnered with ATP to recruit the graduates of the Airline Career Pilot Program, in which career oriented pilots train for successful careers flying for the airlines. These graduates made a choice to fly for the airlines, and to get there first by training with ATP.
