“This extension is an investment in our people and our future,” said Matt Koscal, Republic’s senior vice president and chief administrative officer. “The fact that the agreement was reached well ahead of the amendable date is reflective of our commitment to a strong, mutually beneficial and proactive relationship with our labor groups. The agreement also is a vital element in making Republic the strongest and best regional airline in the industry.” The extension better positions Republic to both retain and recruit the pilots necessary to maintain its industry-leading operational performance, and it is a credit to the hard work and good intentions on both sides. “On behalf of every Republic Associate, we’re grateful to the IBT negotiating committee and to our pilots for studying the agreement and participating in the shaping of our future,” Koscal concluded.
