ATP’s recruiting partner Republic Airlines has been expanding aggressively and is adding aircraft to its fleet to meet the growing demand by airline passengers. In response to the shortage of new pilots entering the airline industry, Republic has been working very closely with ATP to recruit the best trained new pilots.
Republic Airways Holdings, owner of Republic Airlines and Shuttle America Airlines, has ordered five new Embraer E-175s to be flown for their major airline partners. The purchase has an estimated value of $222 million and the aircraft will be configured in two seating classes with 76 seats and deliveries are expected in 2016.
This order is in addition to the previous two orders for E-175s placed by Republic in January 2013 for 47 aircraft, and in September 2014 for 50 aircraft. This latest purchase will boost its fleet to 72 E-170s and 156 E-175s.
