Pinnacle Airlines Corp. on Monday announced traffic results for its Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. and Colgan Air, Inc. subsidiaries for April 2010.
Pinnacle Airlines, Inc.'s April traffic rose 2.9% to 391.4 million revenue passenger miles, while its capacity grew 0.1% to 510.7 million available seat miles. The airline reported an April load factor of 76.6%, compared to 74.6% for the same month last year.
Colgan Air flew 54.2 million revenue passenger miles last month, up 4.2 percent from 52.0 million a year earlier, the company said late Wednesday. A revenue passenger mile is an industry unit measuring one paying passenger flown one mile.
Available seat miles, or capacity, fell 2 percent to 89.5 million from 91.4 million in March 2009.
Load factor, or occupancy, rose 3.6 percentage points to 60.5 percent from 56.9 percent a year earlier.
Year-to-date, revenue passenger miles rose 1 percent to 133.6 million from 132.3 million a year earlier, while available seat miles fell 7.6 percent to 240.7 million from 260.5 million a year earlier and load factor rose 4.7 percentage points to 55.5 percent from 50.8 percent a year earlier.
Pinnacle Airlines Corp. is the parent company of Pinnacle Airlines and Colgan Air. Pinnacle Airlines operates connecting service for Delta Air Lines, Inc.
Colgan Air operates as Continental Connection, United Express and US Airways Express.
