Mesa CEO Jonathan Ornstein made the following statement about the aircraft:

Mesa Airlines has partnered with ATP to provide graduates of our Airline Career Pilot Program with the opportunity to fly both the CRJ-900s and the new E175s for Mesa. Mesa actually flew their first new E175 into our Phoenix Flight Training Center so our Instructors and Students could climb aboard and check out the aircraft that will be waiting for them when they complete their training with ATP. Mesa has informed us that the first four of the new CRJ-900s will begin flying out of their Charlotte, North Carolina hub and then move them west to fly out of their Phoenix hub. There will be a total of 10 new CRJ-900s that will initially be staged in Phoenix to fly routes out of Los Angeles and may eventually be based at LAX. This expansion almost doubles Mesa’s West Coast presence.
