Hawaiian Airlines July traffic jumps 10.4 percent

Hawaiian Airlines said Thursday its traffic jumped 10.4 percent in July on a slight increase in capacity.

Hawaiian flew paying passengers 745.4 million miles last month, compared with 675.4 million a year earlier.

Its capacity last month rose 1.9 percent. Hawaiian's rate of occupancy, or how full its planes are, rose 6.5 percentage points to 85.2 percent.

So far this year, traffic is up 2.3 percent on a 3.1 percent increase in capacity. The carrier's load factor, or occupancy rate, rose 0.6 percentage points to 83.4 percent.
