American Eagle, a unit of AMR Corp., reported that its April traffic increased 8.7% year over year as capacity increased 8.8%.
The airline said its April system traffic rose 8.7% to 700.32 million passenger miles from 644.51 million passenger miles in the same period last year.
The airline's April System capacity was 966.13 million seat miles, up 8.8% from 887.72 million seat miles in the prior year period.
System load factor for the month was 72.5%, down 0.1 points from 72.6% in April 2009.
American Eagle boarded nearly 1.6 million passengers in April.
