Subject: Steven Short - 2 Week Notice
Mr. Koziarski,
I would like to thank you personally and everybody who made it possible for me to come to ATP and train for my dream job in aviation.
On April 3rd I started my Airline Career Pilot Program. As ATP promised I was able to complete all of my ratings including my instructor ratings in the expected amount of time and was subsequently hired as a flight instructor to help train the incoming students at the Jacksonville location. I quickly built my hours and experience level and before I knew it I was eligible to experience the Regional Jet Standards Course that I knew would help prepare me for my future challenges in training at an airline. Soon after this course I sent my resume to my first-choice of airlines and got a response in about 1 week confirming I was eligible for an interview. Exactly 2 weeks from sending my resume in I was in Houston interviewing for my job as a First-Officer for ExpressJet airlines. During the interview I had a 7-Year captain comment to me that applicants from ATP were typically significantly more prepared for the technical portion of the airline interview process than standard applicants.
Yesterday, December 18th, approximately 8 1/2 months since beginning my training with ATP, ExpressJet offered me a position as First-Officer on their Embraer 135/145 series of aircraft. I have accepted this position and am now giving my 2 week notice as flight instructor at ATP.
I again thank everybody at ATP for this unique experience and opportunity to train in such a productive format and I will recommend to any person who has the same dream to fly for the airlines that Airline Transport Professionals is the best choice in aviation training.
