Eric Clifton Miller Review & Testimonial
I think that ATP did a great job of preparing me for my position at Ameriflight. ATP prepared me for my checkrides, and having no checkride failures helped me secure the position. Also, getting my MEI, and being one of the few MEIs at the school I instructed at, allowed me to build up a lot of multi engine time as a flight instructor which also helped me get the job. The training was relevant, however we primarily fly older equipment at my company (steam gauges). However the IFR / procedures training did help as a majority of our simulator training is shooting approaches and handling emergencies.
I finished ATP in less than 9 months, built hours, and qualified for a Part 135 IFR PIC job just in time to be hired just as the pandemic was affecting the industry. If I would have went to a slower school then I would not have the job that I have now. I think the school is worth the money. I did have excellent instructors, and I think that also was a big part of my success so far. You are given the information and tools that you need, it’s just up to the student to put in the effort. If I could do it all over again knowing what I know now, I would have still went to ATP.
